Summary"Research into various aspects of the Holocaust has escalated in recent years just as the ranks of survivor-subjects are rapidly diminishing. In view of the urgency to complete further research and the difficulty faced by scholars in obtaining information, the Ray D. Wolfe Centre for the Study of Psychological Stress at the University of Haifa engaged Dr. Leo Eitinger, assisted by Miriam Rieck, to amass all known materials in the field for a research bibliography. He has since been joined by Dr. Robert Krell of the University of British Columbia in collecting, classifying, and computerizing the materials which now form comprehensive collections at both institutions. All documents contributing in any way to the knowledge of psychological and medical consequences have been included. Materials are drawn from psychological, psychiatric, and social work literature and from personal accounts. In addition to printed books and articles, references are made to manuscripts which are housed at one of three centres where major libraries of this kind exist. The bibliography contains titles in English, French, Polish, Dutch and German, as well as a number of other languages... The major topics are: I. Direct observations of, and direct reactions to the concentration camp during imprisonment and immediately after liberation II. Compensation-rehabilitation III. Physical and psychological results IV. Children as survivors V. Second generation." Back cover
