DescriptionDraw string bag made of dark blue velvet with yellow cord. Star of David embroidered in yellow and orange thread on one side and initials HL in cursive script on the other side.

Gifted to the donor at his bar mitzvah on 10 May 1963 by a family friend, Johnny Dale (birth name Hans Leventhal), who was the original owner.

NoteThe original owner of the item, Hans Leventhal, was a good friend of Manfred Rosengarten's in Shanghai. After arriving in the United States, he changed his name to Johnny Dale and became known as "Uncle Johnny" to the Rosengarten children.
