SummaryCompanion album to the exhibition, "And I Still See Their Faces," which opened 18 April 1996 at Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery. In 1994, Gołda Tencer, the General Director of the Shalom Foundation, called for photographs of Polish Jews to be sent to the Foundation, and thousands were received. Photographs, aged and a bit damaged, kept in attics and dug out of ruins, kept coming from big cities, small towns and villages. The intention of the exhibition and album is to bring back the forgotten world and the history of Polish Jews.
