DescriptionDark brown leather belt with metal clasp at one end. Leather tongue sewn at the other end with a row of double holes to attach to the buckle. Illegible oval stamp in leather on reverse side of clasp end. 26 silver stars affixed along midline of belt.

Method of ConstructionThe donor added the silver stars to the belt during his military service in Italy. The stars were part of the Italian military uniform and worn on the collar.
ProvenanceGifted to the Vancouver Holocaust Centre Society in 1993 by Maurice Smith.
The belt was acquired by the donor during his military service in Italy.
The donor served in Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry regiment in 1944 during the invasion of Italy before joining the the First Canadian Army during the liberation of the Netherlands in 1945.
