Summary"More than 50 years passed since the Jewish communities of Bilke and Vicinity Kulbasavo, Ulitkes, MISTICHEV, Rakovetz, Osy, Yilnitze, Likiveh, were eradicated. Two thousand of our dear ones, our parents, brothers, sisters and other family members died in the Holocaust by the hands of the evil forces in Europe, with great suffering and torture... In the Memorial Book our landsleit tell about our town, about the rich and vibrant spiritual and cultural life, which was conducted for over three hundred years, during the fifteen generations that our community existed. In this book, one can find accounts of the calamity which befell our people during the six years of persecution and annihilation. Our landsleit who sruvived [sic] miraculously describe the agony and suffereings [sic] they endured during their captivity under inhuman conditions which the Germans, the Hungarians and other collaborators inflicted upon them. In it we Also find stories of heroic endurance and strong will to live so that they can leave a legacy for future generations." English introduction, page 649, volume 2
