SummaryEdgar Lion escaped from the Nazis in Vienna in 1938, and was able to start his engineering studies at Edinburgh University. After being interned in the war, he ended up in Canada where he completed a successful career in construction. For this book, he writes, "Over time, I met many people who were similar to myself. In other words, they were interested in many things but at the same time, they were not keen on having to read long books about each topic. So it occurred to me to write a book about some of these topics but put them into a somehow concise form so that people could get some information without having to spend innumerable hours reading books for this purpose."
