Scope & ContentItem is a photograph of the house in which Sorensen hid in Apeldoorn. According to Sorensen, she was given a simple camera for her birthday, around 1946; this photo was taken by Sorensen soon thereafter. The edges of the photograph are scalloped. There appears to be a lighting defect, perhaps from the film development process, which slightly obstructs the street and bushes in front of the house.
Caption, signatures and inscriptionsOn the verso of the photo, “Louise’s hiding place, Apeldoorn, Holland” is handwritten in pencil. Furthermore, there is a “33” handwritten in pencil underneath the aforementioned photo description, as well as a “9” handwritten in blue ink in the upper right corner of the verso.
