Scope & ContentItem is a photograph of Eugen Meyer during his military training from 1900 to 1901. Eugen served in the light horse drawn field artillery, where the crew followed the guns on horseback. His function was to aim the gun onto the target as quickly as possible after reaching the selected position.
Caption, signatures and inscriptionsArnold Overbeck Düsseldorf/ Königs Allée 43 is machine printed on the grey paper below the photograph. The verso contains information about Eugen, such as his birth and death date, as well as his role in the military; this is handwritten in blue ink in English.
